Making Time for Creativity in our busy lives

One of the most common reasons we delay learning art is a lack of time. Work, family responsibilities, and daily commitments often leave creativity feeling like a luxury rather than a priority.

Art classes help create dedicated time for creativity. By setting aside regular sessions, students can focus without distractions and learn in a structured way. This consistency often makes creativity easier to maintain than trying to practise alone at home.

Many find that attending art classes improves their well-being. Stepping away from daily routines, even briefly, provides mental space and relaxation. Creativity becomes a form of self-care rather than another obligation.

At Art for Life Reigate & Banstead, flexibility and understanding are key. If students need to miss a class they can come and join a different one that week, and every lesson we have plenty of tea and biscuits to keep everyone refreshed and refuelled!

Making time for creativity doesn’t require a complete lifestyle change. Often, it simply starts with giving yourself permission to try.
