Lovely group of people to sit and while away a morning whilst learning new skills and techniques from the friendly teachers. Something new is demonstrated each week and all materials are provided.
Art for Life in Reigate is brilliant... Think 5 stars, and then some. The organiser takes her job seriously; the teachers teach, which is less common than you might think. Last time, I saw a teacher helping a complete beginner. The projects are varied, and often witty.

Some people talk to each other; others don't, which suggests a tolerance of difference. You can even have a coffee and a chocolate biscuit. Last but not least, people are nice to each other and don't compete. The end of year show, for charity, impressed my wife. I'm coming back for more.
I went to the Reigate art class for one term, and I've stayed ever since. I'll be starting my fifth term in September! Not only have I learnt so much about myself and about art, but it's also given me precious "me time". I've also met some lovely people along the way. The teachers are wonderful – patient, supportive and encouraging. I can't wait to start again in September!
I joined the 10-week class at Chipstead in summer 2026. It's a friendly group and the course is designed for people of all abilities to come together in a social and relaxing environment. There is parking outside and refreshments are provided.

Each week, a new topic enables you to learn different techniques to develop your drawing & painting skills using pencils, charcoals, watercolour, acrylic paint and much more. All equipment and materials are provided so all you need to do is to have a go! June and Chantal are very experienced, supportive and encouraging. New students are seated together and receive additional help and guidance. At the end of the year, students can select some of their work to show at an open exhibition, where pieces can also be sold; the proceeds go to the charity chosen for the year. I have enjoyed my class and look forward to returning in September and learning more.
Praise from our lovely students
A few kind words shared with us directly by our artists.
I love these classes, have met some lovely, interesting people and would definitely recommend.
There's a theme, a good demo and materials. Excellent atmosphere & encouragement.
The teaching is exactly right for me. Not overbearing — plenty of room for self expression.
Expertly led, beautifully laid out on arrival and a wide variety of different techniques and art materials.
We'd absolutely love you to join us
