Adult art classes in Reigate — everything you need to know before you book

If you've been thinking about trying an art class in Reigate, here's everything you need to know about joining us.

What we offer in Reigate
Art for Life runs adult art classes at St Mary’s Church Centre throughout the year, across three terms. Our main 10-week Beginners / All Abilities Course is a fun, guided journey through a wide range of subjects and mediums, from pencil drawing and watercolour to pastels, acrylics, and more.

Each session runs for three hours, once a week, and is led by two of our experienced tutors who are on hand throughout to offer demonstrations, one-to-one guidance, and plenty of encouragement. You don't need any prior experience — our classes welcome complete beginners alongside more experienced artists, and our tutors are skilled at working with every level in the same room.

We also run a five-week Introduction to Art course, which is perfect if you've never picked up a brush before and want a gentle, structured start before committing to a longer course. These run ad hoc.

What's included
One of the things our students tell us they love most is that everything is taken care of. All art materials and paper are included in the price of every course — you really do just turn up. Refreshments are provided too, as we know tea, coffee and biscuits are important!

Every student gets lots of 1-2-1 time with our tutors, unlike other companies where students are left to ‘have a go’ by themselves.

Who comes to our Reigate classes
Our students are a wonderfully mixed group. Many are retired adults who've always wanted to explore their artistic side and finally have the time. Others are returning to art after years away. Some are looking for something sociable and relaxing to fit around their working week and busy lives.

What they all share is a love of being creative!

Meet your tutors
Our Reigate classes are led by some of our most experienced tutors. Amanda brings over 15 years of teaching experience and specialises in watercolour and vibrant abstract work. Hayley is a passionate mixed media artist whose work spans resin, alcohol inks, watercolour, acrylic and more.

Between them, and supported by our wider team, they create a warm, encouraging environment.

How to book
Our courses run three times a year — with autumn, spring, and summer terms — and places fill up quickly. We'd recommend booking as soon as enrolment opens to secure your spot.

You can browse our current Reigate courses and book online at www.reigate-banstead.artforlife.uk. If you'd like to ask a question first, we're always happy to chat — call us on 01737 457199 or drop us a message via the contact form.

We'd love to have you with us.
